Systems Administrator

Toronto, ON (or remote) | Full-time

Overview

You will work independently or as part of a larger team to implement and/or provide problem determination and remediation services related to system infrastructure technologies.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare, schedule, and perform required system updates and patching.
  • User Onboarding and Offboarding – Provisioning and deprovisioning of user accounts, laptops, mobile device setup, M365 licensing and policies.
  • Proactively monitor and manage systems and respond to monitoring alerts.
  • Manage and administer M365 applications such as Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and user licensing.
  • Respond to email phishing alerts and investigate.
  • Manage and administer on-premises Active Directory and Azure Active Directory, Multi-Factor Authentication, and conditional access policies.
  • Manage device compliance and endpoint security using Microsoft Intune and M365 Defender.
  • Configure, deploy, and manage Azure resources such as virtual machines, resource groups, storage, and various platform services.
  • Maintain physical and virtual server and storage infrastructure.
  • Respond to system incidents, problems, and escalations, assign ticket severity, prioritize work accordingly, and collaborate and work with other staff and vendor support resources to resolve issues.
  • Work with Senior Systems Specialists, Managed Services Operations Manager and Customer Success Manager to improve operations, escalate issues, and streamline processes.
  • Prepare and maintain knowledge base documentation.
  • Execute Change Management and Incident Management processes.
  • Deliver strong customer facing communications, keeping customers informed of incident progress, provide advice, and notify them of upcoming changes or initiatives.
  • Deliver services within agreed‐upon SLAs.
  • Regular travel to Data Centers will be required to perform on-site hardware installations and repairs.
  • Other duties as required.
